The two-day Franco-American summit conference in Reykjavic. Iceland on Thursday and Friday between President Richard M. Nixon and French President Georges Pompidou will include a discussion of the Middle. East, Dr. Henry Kissinger said today. President Nixon’s national security advisor made it clear that while the emphasis will be on European and bilateral matters the entire range of affairs that concern the two countries will be included in the discussions.
Neither the Middle East nor the oil situation in the area were mentioned in the meeting this morning between Nixon and Congressional leaders, newsmen were informed. The meeting was taken up principally with the forthcoming summit sessions in Iceland and Secretary of State William P. Rogers’ tour of Latin American countries.
