A foreign office spokesman today strongly denied reports from Damascus that a plan to conclude a “collective alliance” among the United States, Britain and the Arab countries is under consideration in London, Reuters said.
The official added that there was no truth in the suggestion that such a collective treaty was designed to replace the existing bilateral pacts between Britain on the one hand and Transjordan, Iraq and Egypt on the other.
