No custom barriers will exist between Palestine and its natural hinterland, according to the provisions of the Transjordanian customs ordinance promulgated by the government to-day.
The ordinance states that exports to Transjordania, Syria, Nejd and Hedjaz, and imports from those countries, will be free of customs duty. An exception is made with alcohol and tobacco.
The Hillside-Hollis Jewish Centre, in Hollis, N. Y., will be ready for Rosh Hashonah services. The Jewish community of Hollis number about 5,000. The centre was erected following a drive conducted last spring.

The cable in your yesterday’s paper in reference to the Workers’ Settlement near Hedera is incorrect in one respect. The fund was not made available to the Palestine Economic Council by Justice Brandeis, as stated in the article, but was contributed by him to the Palestine Endowment Fund, Inc. The Palestine Endowment Fund through Mr. D. N. Mohl investigated the project and through him will undertake it. The Palestine Economic Corporation (not Council) was a mere agent to transmit various requests and moneys.
