No decision for advancing the Middle East peace process emerged from a meeting involving Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Inner Security Cabinet. The premier told his top ministers that he was still at odds with an American proposal under which Israel would withdraw from an additional 13 percent of the West Bank. U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright called Netanyahu seven times in recent days in an effort to change the Israeli position, according to U.S. State Department spokesman James Rubin.
