There is no hope for any change in the immigration policy of England, the British home secretary told the Board of Jewish Deputies at its meeting this week. Former M. P. Samuel Finburgh declared that he felt that permanent officials stood in the way of any change, while Major Nathan, M. P., said it was not a matter of abstract justice but of practical politics and no home secretary could now loosen the present immigration restrictions.
