“There is no Jewish problem in Bethlehem,” declares an editorial in the Bethlehem Globe-Times, one of the leading daily newspapers of this city.
The editorial quotes an article written by Alfred M. Cohen, president of the B’nai B’rith, who recently made an address here when the Bethlehem lodge of B’nai B’rith awarded a plaque to Dr. W. L. Estes as the person who has done most for the city during the past year. Mr. Cohen states in his article: “The respect which Jew has for Jew in Bethlehem is reflected in the respect which the non-Jews have for Jews in Bethlehem. There is no Jewish problem in that little city.”
