Dr. Stephen S. Wise stated today after a meeting of the United Palestine Appeal’s administrative committee that no separate campaign would be launched in the United States under the plans for expatriating 100,000 German Jews in four years.
Explaining that the World Council for German Jewry, being set up in London, was a planning rather than fund-raising organization, Dr. Wise said it would seek to prevent overlapping of expatriation plans and to frame plans for affiliated organizations.
Holding that the Jewish Agency for Palestine should be “the instrumentality to translate plans into realities” in regard to Palestine immigration, he said that if the appeal’s $3,500,000 quota was obtained, the council and the agency would be able to carry through settlement of German Jews in the Holy Land.
