“We emphatically reject any suggestion for the elimination in part or in whole of the Negev from the area of our country,” Dr. Moshe Sneh, former member of the Jewish Agency executive who has just arrived in the U.S., told a press conference here today, arranged by the Progressive Zionist League-Hashcmer Hatzair.

Dr. Sneh stressed that the “sincerity of American friendship for Israel can be proved only by the following triple test: it should reject the Bernadotte plan as a whole; it should remain faithful to the United Nations resolution of Nov. 29, 1947; it should put pressure upon the invading armies to leave the territory of Palestine.” The way to peace in the Holy Land, he declared, lies in “a covenant between two free peoples, the Jews and the Arabs, along the lines of the United Nations decision of last year.”
