Arab press reports stated today that the Royal Commission findings, to be published in London later this month, would not recommend partition of Palestine, but establishment of a parliament with wide powers.
The parliament would be elected on the basis of proportional representation of Arabs and Jews, the reports said, and would have the power of deciding Palestine’s future.
The commission will also recommend, according to the reports, restriction of Jewish immigration so that the Jews would never become a majority and the whitling down of the power of the Jewish Agency for Palestine and the Arab Supreme Committee.
