The State Department said today that, to the best of its knowledge, Dr. Walter P. Schreiber, ex-Nazi General who commanded the medical branch of Hitler’s Supreme Command, has not been granted a visa to return to the United States.
This was the Department’s answer to queries on reports that the “atrocity doctor,” who was fired by the U.S. Government after his record was exposed, is attempting to re-enter this country. Edward S. Maney, chief of the Visa Division, said that information had been received from the American Jewish Congress that Schreiber was in Argentina. Maney said a letter was being sent to American consular officials in Argentina for their information.
