Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel told White House officials that military action against Iraq should be considered, but as a last resort. “I believe it is the moral duty to intervene when evil has power and uses it,” said Wiesel, a Holocaust survivor who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986.
