Continuing 26 years of uninterrupted service with the Joint Distribution Committee, Noel Aronovici laft this week for London, where he will assist in the J. D. C. program of relief and rehabilitation in behalf of more then a million Jews whose economic life has been utterly destroyed by the decade of German domination, Dr. Joseph C. Hyman, executive vice-chairman of the J. D. C., annunced today.
In announcing Mr. Aronovici’s new assignment, Dr. Hyman commented, “New that the Allies have forced the Germans to their knees, we must turn to the problems of helping their first victims – those who survived their barbarous persecutions. In each city our overseas representatives entered, they report that the Jews, although starving, naked, suffering from a variety of diseases, ask immediately for jobs and the opportunity to work. Immediate relief is going into Europe in far greater quantities than was possible during the occupation, although we never stopped sending help, Today, however, the greatest problem is the rehabilitation of European Jewry.”
