Non-Jewish marriages in Israel should be authorized by special Chief Rabbinate officials, Israel’s chief rabbi suggested. The idea was raised Monday during a meeting of the Knesset’s Immigration and Absorption Committee by Israel’s chief rabbis, Shlomo Amar and Yona Metzger, Ha’aretz reported.
