A small Orthodox synagogue on the West Side of Chicago, Congregation Chevro Kisho Machzikai Hadas, bombed and severely damaged last New Year’s Eve, is ready to rebuild its house of worship with the help of nearly $6,000 contributed chiefly by non-Jewish neighbors in the community, it was announced today.
Rabbi Julius Goldman, spiritual leader of the synagogue, announced that the help that has come in from the community has made reconstruction of the synagogue possible. City police and agents of the F.B.I. are still searching for the perpetrators of the New Year’s Eve bombing.
