None of Germany’s three leading far-right parties got enough votes to enter Parliament. The National Democrats, Republicans and German People’s Union each received less than 2 percent of the vote in the country’s national elections. In a separate regional election also held Sunday, the People’s Union was shut out of the state legislature in the former East German state of Mecklenburg- Vorpommern.
