A demand for electoral reforms that would provide greater parliamentary representation for new immigrants, particularly those of Oriental descent, was issued today by the new executive committee of the North African Immigrants Association. The committee was elected at last week’s world convention of Moroccan Jews. The changes called for include increasing the total number of Knesset seats from 120 to 150. Shaul Ben Simhon, chairman of the Immigrants Association, said his group has asked the government to give Israel’s social and economic gap the same priority as immigration and defense.
