Identity cards and passports of all Jews in Norway must be stamped with the word "Jew" before March 1, in accordance with an order issued by the Norwegian police this week, it was reported here today. Failure to comply with the order will be punished by imprisonment and fines, the police authorities decreed.
The new order contains the widest interpretation of who is a Jew. Included in the category of Jews are anyone who has had a Jew among his ancestors during the last three generations regardless of their nationality, anyone belonging to the Jewish religion, anyone who is married to a Jew or anyone who intends to marry a Jew.
