Cantor Leib Glantz, who has been acclaimed in many countries for his singing and compositions, will officiate during Passover week at the Laurel-in-the-Pines, exclusive hotel at Lakewood, N. J., it was announced yesterday by the management of the hostelry.
Mr. Glantz has written extensively on music for publications here and abroad. It is his intention to strive to raise the art of cantorial singing to loftier heights.
German Swet, renowned critic of Jewish music, who heard Mr. Glantz sing in Europe, wrote that in his opinion the cantor was startlingly original in his rendition of synagogal airs. A large choir conducted by Reuben Kazimirsky will assist at the hotel services.
