“Festival at Meron” is the name of a novel in English by Harry Sackler, well known Jewish play-wright, which will be published in September by Covici-Friede, it was announced by the publishing house on Friday.
The novel deals with the last rebellion of the Jews after the destruction of the Second Temple. This is the first novel by Mr. Sackler in English.
Mr. Sackler, who is well known for his plays which were produced by the Habimah Theatre in Palestine and by the Yiddish Art Theatre in New York, is considered one of the best Jewish writers on historical themes. He was awarded the prize given by the Association of Jewish Writers in America for the best literary work of the year.
