Girls at Milford, Pa., sponsored by the New Jersey Federation of Y. M. H. A.’s and Y. W. H. A.’s, recalls the noble work of one of the most modest and most generous philanthropists in American Jewry. Felix Fuld was broadminded in his charities. He knew no religious frontiers when it was a matter of aiding the needy, the distressed, the sick. He was a thorough American and a loyal Jew. He was wholeheartedly concerned in the plight of the Jewish people abroad. He worked modestly with those whom he recognized as the Jewish leaders and gave generously whenever appeals for relief were made. He helped Jewish artists and Jewish scholars substantially but noiselessly. He was keenly interested in promoting education, and his widow is continuing along the lines of Felix Fuld’s farsighted and lasting benefactions.
It was a happy idea to honor the memory of the man who was so quietly and so nobly devoted to his community and to his people at large.
