Abolition of child labor was assisted more effectively by the NRA in six months than by the work of the National Child Labor Committee in twenty years, Dr. Owen R. Lovejoy, former secretary of the committee, stated yesterday in a lecture on child care given under the auspices of the Women’s Division of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies. Dr. Lovejoy, present secretary of the Children’s Aid Society, also praised the work of the Crime Prevention Bureau of the Police Department and urged its retention by Mayor LaGuardia.
