The Israel Foreign Affairs Ministry reported today that the number of Asian and African students and experts training in Israel will be doubled next year to a total of about 350.
A spokesman said a second group of Burmese officers and war veterans will arrive in January for a year of agricultural training. The arrival will take place after the first group, made up of 40 families, finishes a one-year stay at Israel collective settlements. After returning to Burma, the families will establish border settlements engaged in both farming and defense along Israel patterns.
A special seminar for Afro-Asian experts on housing and village development will be opened soon in Israel. Plans are under way also to establish a permanent institute for Afro-Asian farm experts.
