More than 35 cases of infantile paralysis have been reported in Israel recently, it was revealed here. The Israel Health Ministry announced that steps have been taken to isolate areas in which infantile paralysis has been reported.
The announcement said that the Health Ministry does not believe that the virus was brought from abroad. It is assumed that the carrier is a woman who worked with children. The Ministry emphasized that there is no danger of an epidemic, that such outbreaks are isolated and put under control and that 20 to 30 cases of polic per month corresponds to the rate now prevalent in most civilized countries, including the United States.
