The City Council unanimously approved a resolution introduced by City Council President Paul O’Dwyer condemning the French government for its recent release of accused Arab terrorist Abu Daoud. Copies of the resolution were sent to the French Consulate, the United Nations General Assembly and the Israeli Consulate.
“The action of the French government in releasing a man accused of leading the terrorist raid which resulted in the murder of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympic games in Munich is nothing short of outrageous,” O’Dwyer said, “Apparently the French government has forgotten what they fought against in World War II.”
