Rabbi I. B. Jashnofsky, who had been chairman of the B’nai B’rith Social Service activity at Ohio State Penitentiary, Mansfield Reformatory and Lancaster School for Boys for more than fifty years, died here at the age of 79, after an illness of more than a year due to infirmities of old age.
Among the pallbearers were several Jewish inmates of Ohio State Penitentiary, who were granted permission for this service by Warden Thomas. At a recent meeting of Zion Lodge of B’nai B’rith, Rabbi Jashnofsky was presented with a framed resolution extolling him as the only honorary life member of the local lodge.
