The Vacuum Oil Company, following the example of the British controlled Shell Oil Company, has acquired 14 dunams of land from the American Zion Commonwealth Company in the heart of Afuleh for an oil depot. This depot will serve the oil trade of the Vacuum Company in the Emek Valley.
