A visitor to Kozo Okamoto reported today that the Japanese terrorist serving a life sentence for his part in the May 30 Lod Airport massacre appears repentant for the first time since he was captured by Israeli police after the outrage. Prof. Ikoro Tashima, a leader of the pro-Israel Makoya group-in Japan, was Okamoto’s first visitor from the outside since his trial and imprisonment last June. He spoke to the prisoner for 90 minutes. He said Okamoto “lost his cool, indifferent expression and from time to time wept and shivered with emotion” during their conversation. According to Tashima, Okamoto admitted that he had been a tool of a “misleading ideology.”
