The site of the Rothschild-Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem has been sold for approximately $200,000, it was announced here yesterday by Hadassah.
The hospital, established by Hadassah in 1918, will be replaced by the proposed Rothschild-Hadassah-University Medical Center to be built on Mt. Scopus, near the Hebrew University. The land and building of the present hospital, located near the business section of Jerusalem, were given to Hadassah in 1918 by the late Baron Edmond de Rothschild, whose family has authorized the sale of the property, the proceeds to be applied to the construction of the new medical center.
The building cost of the new medical center is estimated at between $500,000 and $600,000.
