Sheindel Hirschkorn, said to be the oldest Jewess in Poland, is dead here at the age of 119. She was a well-known character in the city, having been a peddler for two generations. Despite her great age she never wore spectacles.
She will be buried tonight with five generations of ancestors participating in the services. Aware of the end she prepared her own shroud.
