The next session of the International Olympic Committee, which will meet in Paris in June, will consider Israel’s appeal against its exclusion by Spain from the forthcoming Mediterranean Regional Olympics, British sportsmen reported today.
These circles note that the action of the Spanish committee organizing the regional games–to be held at Barcelona–had violated the regulations of the Olympic Games, which bar any discrimination on grounds of race, religion, color or politics. in the event that Spain stands by the exclusion of Israel athletes, the International Olympic Committee can for bid the flying of the Olympic flag or the holding of any other Olympic ceremony at the games.
