Three hundred workers, about equally divided between men and women, will set out Tuesday morning to raise $42,000 for the Jewish Philanthropies of Omaha, a new organization composed of three local Jewish institutions and seventeen national and international causes.
The campaign will be opened with a mass meeting Monday evening at which Rabbi Solomon Goldman of Chicago will deliver the keynote address. On Tuesday morning a breakfast will be held at the Jewish Community Center immediately preceding the canvass. The campaign is being conducted under the general chairmanship of Sam Beber, with the assistance of Samuel Gerson, executive secretary, and an executive committee of nine members.
Children of kindergarten age are giving their pennies for this drive which will include a solicitation of the entire community.
