On Israel’s memorial day, Israelis remembered the country’s 21,782 fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism. The Jewish state came to a halt for two minutes Sunday night and Monday morning as sirens sounded nationwide to mark the memorial day. Bereaved families and friends flocked to cemeteries around the country, and many Israeli businesses were closed.
