Once again the Nazi regime will go on trial, this time at Temple Emanu-El here, when “The Case of Civilization Against Hitlerism” will be presented this Thursday evening, with the participation of Rhode. Island leaders of public opinion. Judge Philip C. Joslin of the Superior Court will preside at the trial.
Witnesses will include Rabbi Israel M. Goldman of Temple Emanu-El, who will offer the testimony for the Jews; the Rev. Dr. Samuel Clifton of the Plymouth-Union Congregational Church, for Christian religion; Professor Sharon Brown of Brown University, on behalf of culture; Miss Alice W. Hunt, president of the Consumers’ League of Rhode Island, for women, and Fred B. Perkins, secretary of the State Bar Association, who will present the case of democracy.
