One hundred thousand Jews in the Ukraine are without definite sources of earning a livelihood, declares an official statement of the Ukrainian Comzet, governmental department for Jewish land settlement.
The department is preparing plans for temporarily settling some 50,000 Jews on dairy farms, putting them into gardening and in poultry-raising collectives. At present, Jews in the Ukraine possess 12,000 dairy farms and vegetable gardens, 40% being collectives.
