One Israeli soldier was killed and four wounded in a clash with El Fatah marauders near the Ben-Shemen Village and agricultural school last night. One of the raiders was killed in the exchange of fire. Troops continued the search today for the three raiders who escaped. Ben-Shemen is a few miles northeast of Lydda. Large quantities of explosive charges and detonators were found nearby, and also a Russian assault gun of the Klachnikoff type.
