One Palestinian was killed and seven others wounded when Israeli troops clashed with stone-throwers in Hebron. The clashes took place as Arab residents there observed a general strike to protest a weeklong curfew on the tense West Bank town. Israel imposed the curfew after a Palestinian threw a grenade at Israeli troops. Meanwhile, Israel kept the West Bank and Gaza Strip sealed off. The closure, imposed in the wake of Hamas terror threats, has been in effect almost continuously since the start of Rosh Hashanah on Sept. 20.
