Only some twelve Jews were present at the concluding Rosh Hashanah services in the improvised synagogue in a cafe in Sperlstrasse which was attacked by Nazis on Sunday night, it was disclosed last night following a police investigation.
The Jews fought back their attackers until the police came on the scene which was after some delay.
Forty-two Nazis were arrested but only three have been held for trial.
The investigation is being continued by the police despite the allegation of the Nazis that theirs was not attack but self defense after shots were fired at them from the cafe.
