Only about 100 families of the several thousand regular residents of the northern Sinai town of Yamit remained there at midday Wednesday — and most of them are expected to move out by midnight when the entire Sinai area becomes a closed area, with no civilians allowed there. The only exception will be a few regular residents who will be issued with special army passes allowing them to pass in and out of the Yamit and Ophira areas, to conclude the transfer north of their businesses, farms and personal equipment.
