The Ontario Federation of Labor, in its annual statement of legislative proposals to the Provincial Government, has called for adoption of legislation designed to “prohibit and penalize the refusal of service in any public establishment to any person because of his race, religion or nationality.”
The labor organization also criticized the administration of the provincial Fair Employment Practices Act characterizing investigations under the Act as “halfhearted and slow. ” It also called for a campaign to acquaint the people of Ontario with the purposes of the legislation.
