The Ontario Government will move within the next few weeks to amend its anti-discrimination law, it was reported here today. Amendments to the Fair Accommodations Practices Act are expected to be in the hands of the legislature within three weeks.
Jewish and other groups, interested in civil rights recently urged the Ontario Government to clarify and tighten the act so as to prevent recurrence of successful court challenges which have rendered the act powerless.
