The Ministry of Works refused permission today to Britain’s National Socialist party to hold a mass meeting Sunday in Trafalgar Square.
The Ministry declared that such a meeting was “likely to cause grave public disturbances. ” Colin Jordan, now in a dispute with his deputies over leadership of the neo-Nazi group, was sentenced to two months in jail in August, 1962, for his activities in a party rally in the Square, one of several that year which led to rioting and arrests.
