Intent upon showing to the Jewish community the value of a Jewish center and its many activities, the Jacob H. Schiff Center, 2510 Valentine avenue, the Bronx, has declared “open house” for the public today. Dr. Alexander Basel, director and spiritual leader of the institution, announced that from three to eleven P. M. every item embraced in the center curriculum will be exhibited.
Dr. David Zahn will appear as principal speaker of the evening program under the supervision of the Bronx Health Committee when he offers a discourse on “Daily Living for Good Health.”
Included among the salient activities open for public view will be swimming races, elocution class demonstration, glee club concert, piano recital, marionette stage and a social dancing exhibition. These will be augmented by gymnasium and health exhibits.
Interests of an educational nature will be focused upon the classes of the Schiff Center Hebrew School, of which Joseph Deitch is principal.
