Jewish workers employed in the Haifa Bay Land were driven away by Arabs in organized groups who claimed the land as their own.

Earlier in the afternoon the Arab claims had been taken up by the District Commissioner who decided that of 3,500 of the 10,000 dunams of land belonging to the Jewish National Fund and the Bayside Land Corporation, an American Jewish firm, should be returned to the Arabs.

The 3,500 dunams of land constitute the claim of the Arabs.
