A German federal court has annulled the decision of the “Deutscher Alpenverein,” society of German Alps climbers, expelling its Jewish members, whose reinstatement it has now ordered.
Some time ago, the “Deutscher Alpenverein” had decided that in the future it would limit its Jewish membership to a certain percentage. As a result of this, the Jews who were already members, organized a democratic Alps-club, which would place no restrictions upon Jewish membership, upon which the executive of the older Alps-club expelled them.
