Alvin Fine of Portland, Ore., 18, was unanimously chosen the winner in the international oratorical contest conducted by Aleph Zadik Aleph, the junior order of B’nai B’rith, at is annual convention here.
Fine spoke on “The Universality of the Jewish Idea of God.” Bernard Levy of Niagara Falls, N. Y., and Charles Peckarsky of Milwaukee, Wis., won second and third prizes respectively. Eight persons competed.
More than 300 members of the order are attending the convention, which will close Sunday. Irving Hill, international president, of Lincoln, Neb., is presiding.
