The “Economists d’Orien,” a review in the French language published here by Deputy Rechid Safvet Bey, devotes its current bulletin to the affairs of the nine Jews who were recently arrested on a charge of having insulted Turkism. The editor, Deputy Rechid Safvet Bey, writes: “We expect much from the loyal collaboration of the Jews of Turkey in the economic and financial fields. Twenty-five years of common work with a large number of Jews has taught us to appreciate their qualities of intelligence and honesty, to which we have always paid tribute. In defence of the political and economic interests of our fatherland, throughout the catastrophes of history, we have found the co-operation of the foreign Jews to be most earnest and unselfish.”
