THE JEWISH RURAL YOUTH ORGANIZATION OF AMERICA, AIMING TO AID IN THE ECONOMIC ADJUSTMENT OF JEWISH YOUTHS ON FARMS AND IMPROVE THEIR SOCIAL AND CULTURAL CONDITIONS, WAS FORMED SUNDAY AT A CONVENTION HELD AT THE AMALGAMATED COOPERATIVE HOUSES IN THE BRONX AND ATTENDED BY 200 DELEGATES FROM MANY PARTS OF THE COUNTRY.
A CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS WERE DRAWN UP AND RESOLUTIONS WERE ADOPTED ESTABLISHING A COMMITTEE TO SEEK A LOAN FUND OF ABOUT $25,000 TO SUPPLY CAPITAL TO JEWISH YOUTHS WISHING TO BEGIN FARMING, TO STUDY ECONOMIC ADJUSTMENT PROBLEMS AND TO AFFILIATE WITH OTHER YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS SEEKING IMPROVED CONDITIONS IN RURAL DISTRICTS. THE ORGANIZATION HOPES TO ENROLL THOUSANDS OF MEMBERS AMONG JEWISH YOUTH IN FARMING AREAS.
