The annual benefit show of Israel Orphan Asylum was to be given Saturday night at Madison Square Garden before a sell-out crowd of 21,000 persons.
The principals and ensembles in costume, of every musical show in town were to take part with hundreds of stars from vaudeville and the films.
As in former years, the show—the twentieth annual edition—was assembled by Judge Gustave Hartman and Mrs. Hartman, who is the unsalaried superintendent of the orphanage, located at 274 East Second street.
