THE WORLD ORT UNION, FOR JEWISH VOCATIONAL RETRAINING, OPENED ITS FOURTH WORLD CONGRESS YESTERDAY. HUNDREDS OF DELEGATES FROM A DOZEN COUNTRIES, INCLUDING THE UNITED STATES, CANADA, SOUTH AFRICA, AUSTRALIA AND THE ARGENTINE WERE OFFICIALLY WELCOMED BY JULES JULIEN, UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION.
THREE DAYS’ DISCUSSION OF THE ECONOMIC SITUATION OF JEWS IN EASTERN EUROPE WERE SCHEDULED. AMONG THOSE TO ADDRESS THE CONGRESS WERE DR.
