The $500,000 national campaign of the American ORT Federation opened yesterday at the Hotel Pennsylvania with an all-day conference of delegates from various cities and organizations, including visitors from many parts of the United States. Dr. Henry Moskowitz, chairman of the board of directors, presided. B. Charney Vladeck, American ORT president, called for a “united front” of all Jewish organizations, and declared that “Jewish life must establish itself on a completely functional and productive basis.”
